The EURORDIS Access Campaign

The economic and financial crisis we currently live is considered as one of the most serious that the world has known since the Second World War. In response, several reforms have been implemented and the health care system has not been spared. These cost-containment measures have an impact on the health of citizens and on people living with a rare disease.

EURORDIS has launched series of initiatives to help solve some of the issues, and is part of other actions at the European or international level.

The purpose of EURORDIS Access Campaign, very much inspired by the Médecins Sans Frontières Access Campaign launched in 1999, is to push for improved access to, and the development of, life-saving and life prolonging medicines, diagnostic tests and medical devices for people living with a rare disease.
