EURORDIS announces 2011 Photo and Video Contest

• Video contest winner - Rare Disease Day 2009
• Winners of the 2008 Photo Contest

The 5th EURORDIS Photo and Video Contest is open until 30 April 2011.

It is an international contest, open to people all over the world who are touched by rare disease.

Categories

This year there will be four categories for photo submissions:

1. My rare disease (focusing on treatment),
2. Portraits,
3. Family,
4. Out and about (daily life)
 

Entry requirements

In addition, and in order to maintain good quality, EURORDIS has suggested formats and dimensions as well as resolutions for the photos and videos.

For photo entries the standard is JPEG or PDF and 3 sizes have been listed:

1. Small – Dimensions 849 × 565 pixels or 11.8" × 7.8", resolution 72 dpi
2. Medium Small – Dimensions 1698 × 1131 pixels or 5.7" × 3.8", resolution 300 dpi
3. Large– Dimensions 2716 × 1810 pixels or 9.1" × 6.0", resolution 300 dpi

For video entries the 4 codecs are:

1. MPG
2. MOV
3. WMV
4. AVI

Please remember that your video must meet EURORDIS’ uploading requirements: no larger than 1GB and no more than 10 minutes in length.

So calibrate your cameras and start taking pictures and filming!
