Committee for Advanced Therapies (CAT)
The main responsibility of the Committee for Advanced Therapies (CAT) is to prepare a draft opinion on each Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP) application submitted to the European Medicines Agency (EMEA).
The CAT draft opinion is then forwarded to the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) adopts a final opinion on the granting, variation, suspension or revocation of a marketing authorisation for the medicine concerned. (ATMP Regulation 1394/2007)

- 22 members from National Competent Authorities
- 5 members from Committee for Human Medicinal Products (CHMP) + 5 alternates
- 2 Health Care Professionals + 2 alternates
- 2 Patients’ representatives + 2 alternates
- 2 non-voting members (Iceland and Norway)
