Elisa Ferrer

Elisa Ferrer joined EURORDIS in 2015 as Patient Engagement Manager.

Elisa is responsible for managing the process of patient engagement by identifying EURORDIS patient representatives to participate as experts in the different medicines evaluation procedures, from orphan drug designation to protocol assistance or health technology assessment. In close collaboration with the Therapeutic Development Director, Elisa also supports the activities of patient representatives at the Therapeutic Action Group (TAG), a group of high-level EURORDIS representatives/volunteers who sit on various scientific committees at the European Medicines Agency.

Before joining EURODIS, Elisa worked in pharmacovigilance at two large pharmaceutical companies and has also experience as medical writer and scientific editor.

Elisa holds a degree in Pharmacy and a PhD in Physiology and has previously worked in basic research studying ocular ion channel physiology and mechanisms of nociceptive memory in neurons.

A native Catalan and Spanish speaker, she also speaks English and some French.
