Fabrizia Bignami

Fabrizia Bignami holds a PhD in Cellular and Developmental Biology from the Department of Cellular Biology at La Sapienza University-Rome, Italy. She has also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the CNRS Laboratory for Cellular Biology of Membranes, Jacques Monod Institute-Paris, France.
Fabrizia was trained in in Statistics Applied to Medicine (CESAM), Université Paris-VI, and Health Technology Assessment at the UMIT, Tyrol Austria.
Between 2000 and 2002, she was Project Manager for Cell Therapies at the Scientific Department of the French Association against Myopathies (Association Française contre les Myopathies, AFM-Téléthon), France.
In 2002, Fabriziabecame Therapeutic Development Director at EURORDIS, Paris, France, in charge of all activities relating to research and development of medicinal products for rare diseases in Europe.
In particular, she was permanent observer and patient representatives’ supporter at the Committee for Orphan Medicinal Products (COMP), EMA from 2002 to 2009 as in 2009 she was nominated member of the Committee for Advanced Therapies (CAT), EMA.
