EURORDIS is committed to a “Patients and People First” approach to shaping policy that moves the bar forward for the rare disease community. Your support helps ensure EURORDIS is strongly representing the patient voice on the world policy stage, including at European Parliament, the World Health Organization, and the United Nations. And your generosity ensures EURORDIS can lead programmes like the global Rare Disease Day campaign, which raises awareness internationally for people living with a rare disease.
One of EURORDIS’ most powerful roles is to break the isolation of rare disease, and provide opportunities for people living with a rare disease to take action and make a difference. Your support helps make possible programmes like EURORDIS’ Open Academy, which trains and empowers patient advocates. Since its inception in 2008, the flagship Summer School academy has trained more than 400 participants from over 40 countries, representing more than 75 diseases.
In order for rare disease advocates to make a meaningful difference, they must have opportunities to partner with other stakeholders in shaping priorities and finding patient-centric solutions. Your support helps ensure that EURORDIS’ team of expert patient volunteers are able to join the conversation in all of the European arenas where progress is happening. From the European Medicines Agency to National Alliances to European Reference Networks, EURORDIS is partnering where it matters!
