HTx – Next Generation HTA
HTx – Next Generation HTA (Health Technology Assessment) is a Horizon 2020 project supported by the European Union. The main aim of HTx is to create a framework for the Next Generation Health Technology Assessment (HTA) to support patient-centered, societally oriented, real-time decision-making on access to and reimbursement for health technologies throughout Europe.
Project duration:
January 2019 – June 2024

EURORDIS role in the project
EURORDIS is part of the HTx consortium and is committed to inform the patient community about the progress and the potential of the project and to train the future patient advocates about HTx core concept and expected findings. As EURORDIS covers the rare diseases scope of the HTx case studies (head and neck cancer, and myelodysplastic syndrome), we associated the European Multiple Sclerorsis Platform to our communication and training effort to reach multiple sclerosis patient community.
On the training side, every year we include an HTx dedicated sessions in the EURORDIS Open Academy school, and in EMSP General Assembly. On the communication side, EURORDIS produced an introductory video for the public and interviewed several HTx experts to produce video materials to be disseminated. A toolbox for patients will be the final deliverable.
