Sharon Ashton

Sharon Ashton joined EURORDIS in 2010 as Event Manager, later becoming Events Director.

Sharon is part of the Resource Development team where she is responsible for organising major EURORDIS events including the biennial European Conference on Rare Diseases and Orphan Products (ECRD).

Since 2010, Sharon organises and produces EURORDIS' high-level public relations EURORDIS Awards & Black Pearl Evening held in Brussels in February every year.

Sharon has over fourteen years experience in event management on an international level organising medical and other international conferences.

Among the events that she coordinated were the Infectious Diseases in Children Symposium in New York City and San Francisco, USA in 2001 and 2002; and the Fall Meeting of the International Section of the American Bar Association in 2009 in Paris.

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and French from The University of Huddersfield in the UK.
