Fatoumata Faye joined EURORDIS in October 2022 as a survey project manager for the rare barometer programme. As such, she manages quantitative and qualitative research projects.
Before working for EURORDIS, she held a consultancy position in 2022 at the Global Health 2030 think tank based in Paris. As a research officer, she drafted a report tracking the evolution of key global health indicators during the last two decades worldwide. She was a junior lecturer in economics and statistics at Clermont Auvergne University in 2019 and 2020. Her first work experiences in 2016 and 2017 as a research assistant at the Senegalese Ministry of Health and then the World Health Organization in Geneva have shaped her PhD thesis.
Fatoumata holds a doctorate in economics and a master’s degree in health economics and international development from Clermont Auvergne University. Her research focused on health systems financing for universal health coverage in low and middle-income countries. She also had the opportunity to manage a health survey in Dakar as part of her PhD thesis.
Originally from Senegal, she speaks French and Wolof. She also speaks English and is learning Arabic.
